  2. Shalom. Shmi Careen Vered Patichi. This year, Im expecting to brush up on my hebrew and connect to my israeli roots, maybe talk to my grandparents in hebrew as well as the rest of my family. A little more about me: my father is Temani, my mother is Moraccan and Turkish, and my family is Sephardic. We listen to a lof of hebrew music at home, and eat lots of yemenite food. I hope to learn hebrew in a fun and exciting way and Im really looking forward to this class!

  3. Shalom! My name is Diane Algava. This year, I'm hoping to finally learn some Hebrew this year. I really love learning language and I'm very excited to get to learn. I'm from New Jersey, and my parents are from New York. My dad's side of the family is Spanish, so I'm Sephardi, but my mother is Ashkenazi. During breaks however, I mostly live with my aunt in Chicago. Next year they are making aliyah, so I'm hoping I'll be able to learn a little bit of Hebrew so I can visit them in Israel!

  4. Hi I am Shoshannah Newman. This year I am hoping to learn how to speak Hebrew. I have tried to learn in the past but the School system has failed me. I really would like to know Hebrew so that way when my father tries to talk to my Savta in Hebrew so that I don’t understand I will be able to understand them. I also would like to be able to talk to my Savta in Hebrew because she would really like me to learn Hebrew. I also think it is important for every Jew to know Hebrew. I am from Michigan. I am Ashkenazi.

  6. Greetings!
My name is Sarah E. Cohen and I would love to be proficient in Hebrew. No one in my family has been able to read or speak Hebrew in hundreds of years and I really want to bring that back to my family. Because it's very important to me (and my family) but I'm the first person in a long time with the real potential to accomplish this goal.

  7. My name is Gabby Weinberg. My goal for this year is to expand on my currently minimal understanding of Hebrew. Also, I would really like to learn how to write well in Hebrew. I am very much looking forward to this year, as I have always felt a very strong connection to the Hebrew language.

I currently live in Suffern, NY (right next to Monsey), but I am originally from Montreal
